About the Book

What if today's struggles were already answered 1,400 years ago?

Polish Your Soul is not another theoretical book about faith. It is a practical roadmap for the modern Muslim — addressing anxiety, broken relationships, spiritual emptiness, and the tyranny of distraction through the living guidance of the Qur'an and the Prophetic tradition.

Written from the voice of a seeker, not a scholar, Yaaseen Masvood speaks as a fellow traveller. He does not lecture from a height — he maps the path alongside the reader, chapter by chapter, heart-disease by heart-disease, until the mirror becomes clear.

The Disease of Self-Admiration

When the mirror becomes our master

“So, do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him.”Qur'an 53:32

Amira had just finished her Tahajjud prayer. As she rolled up her prayer mat, she caught herself thinking: I wonder how many people in this city woke up to pray tonight. Probably not many. Alhamdulillah that I'm not like those who waste their nights scrolling. The thought felt righteous — after all, she had sacrificed sleep. But as she opened Instagram to “check notifications quickly,” she noticed something unsettling: the first thing she wanted to do after praying was tell someone about it.

Self-admiration isn't new. It's ancient. And notice that Allah does not say, “Don't be pure.” He says, “Don't claim purity.” The issue isn't righteousness — it's the announcement of it.

We see the external act; He sees the motivation. We count the prayers; He weighs the sincerity.
